My take on wedding photography

I do not do wedding photography, I even do not consider my self a photographer. I picked up photography because I wanted to learn composition, exposure and technical things that are the same with video.  So I either borrowed friends DSLR and later got my own film camera – Zenit TTL to get disciplined.

So I got asked to do wedding photography for friends, for two reasons – they could not afford a decent photographer, and they do not like been photographed because and thus me knowing them would be less conspicuous and would yield a better pictures. I had never done photography as job, and I decided to give it a go, just to see how it is.

Wedding photography consists mostly of three things – coverage, take picture of us with the couple and prepared pose shots. I’m the coverage guy – I’m particularly bad with setting up people for a picture. So challenge accepted.

So this is what I got with rather simple gear – Canon EOS 400D, Tamron AF 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3, Canon EF 50mm f/1.8, Canon EF 135mm f/2L

The last picture is one that I’m particularly found of. I had been in that place before and I thought of shot like this, so I planed it out and then I made it – and i would say I’m rather please with the result, there are many things how I could have made it even better, but with my limited knowledge at that time – I did my best then.
